Reducing the Digital Divide and Supporting the Country’s Economic and Social Development
In a context where access to information and new technologies plays a crucial role in economic and social development, Maroc Telecom is fully committed to ensuring maximum territorial coverage and promoting widespread use of new technologies. Maroc Telecom deploys its telecommunications infrastructure even to the most remote regions, providing populations with access to essential services. Every year, it works to connect isolated areas by extending coverage to several hundred localities across all the countries where it operates, in both voice and data services.
As a major player in digital transformation in Morocco and Africa, Maroc Telecom invests heavily to continuously expand and improve the quality and speed of its networks, as well as to build international fiber optic cables. The goal is to ensure reliable, high-speed broadband connectivity, enabling users to access advanced digital services. At the same time, the Group carries out various initiatives to promote innovation, actively contributing to the growth of the digital economy. This strategy also has a positive impact on employment, with the Group being the source of hundreds of thousands of indirectly created jobs, particularly among its partners (resellers and subcontractors).
At the societal level, Maroc Telecom is involved with numerous nationally recognized associations that carry out humanitarian actions, such as the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity. It supports various artistic fields, including music, cinema, theater, and publishing, while contributing to the preservation of Morocco’s rich cultural heritage through partnerships with numerous festivals, institutions, and flagship events of the Moroccan cultural scene. Maroc Telecom also organizes its Beach Festival every summer, offering free and diverse performances, and has created the first museum dedicated to the history of telecommunications in Morocco.
Maroc Telecom contributes to the development of national sports and supports numerous sporting disciplines. For many years, it has backed and accompanied national teams during major events such as the Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup. Since 2007, Maroc Telecom has been a partner of the Mohammed VI Football Academy. It has also been the primary and official partner of the Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation since 1999 and supports the development of other disciplines such as equestrian sports, golf, tennis, and motorsports, thereby contributing to the training of young talent and the international success of Moroccan athletes.
