Respect the Environment and Combat Climate Change

Maroc Telecom operates in a sector that provides numerous solutions enabling citizens and economic actors to improve energy efficiency, optimize natural resource consumption, and contribute to the transition toward a low-carbon economy while protecting the environment. At the same time, the company implements various initiatives to effectively manage its environmental footprint, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Maroc Telecom optimizes its own greenhouse gas emissions, both direct and indirect, by continuously improving the energy efficiency of its facilities and vehicle fleet. It promotes the use of renewable energies, especially in remote areas. High-performance energy equipment, appropriate ventilation systems, energy-saving features, and specific materials for the construction of technical sites are among the measures taken to optimize energy consumption.

Through the dematerialization of services (electronic recharge, online billing, digital communication, etc.), digitalization of processes, and optimization measures during service design (e.g., reducing the size of SIM card packaging and support, introduction of eSIM), Maroc Telecom significantly reduces its paper consumption.

Regarding end-of-life equipment, Maroc Telecom implements actions to process and recover each type of waste in accordance with regulations and industry best practices.

As a partner of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, Maroc Telecom participates in and supports various projects and initiatives, including the rehabilitation and maintenance of Arsat Moulay Abdeslam Park in Marrakech, transformed into a modern cyber park while preserving its authentic character, as well as the "Clean Beaches" program and the Foundation's "Voluntary Carbon Offset" program, contributing to national efforts to protect the coastline and combat climate change. By supporting the wildlife conservation project at the Temara Zoo, Maroc Telecom also participates in biodiversity preservation.

By raising environmental awareness among its employees and designing eco-friendly buildings, such as the Maroc Telecom Tower, Maroc Telecom demonstrates its commitment to sustainable development.
